I bought this on cd to replace my battered vinyl copy. My original is signed by Cozy Powell, so I don't like to keep sliding the entire album out of the plastic sleeve I keep it in too often. That's why I decided to buy it. The sound has been cleaned up - I don't like that. It sounds sterile, not like the familiar comfy fluffy, woolly sound from my stereo. But that's probably more a comment on the state of my stereo and the needle, than the album. I've probably just got used to hearing it a certain way. So the clarity of the cd is startling to say the least. It's a good Rainbow album, showcasing each band member well, epsecially the diminutive Mr Dio and his great voice. I don't think he needs a microphone! This album has long been a favourite of mine, above other R albums, of which I have several. So adding a cd to my collection of this album in particular seemed logical.Read full review
