I expected a little more bonus material, but that's ok. It's a well-crafted show. I happened to catch the show in the theaters, this night. what an experience! The guys were a little rusty, and maybe a bit emotionally over-loaded, as they had just announced this would eb their phinal tour. bummer. Well everyone at the show seemed to be having a great time! Great camera work. Get it if you're a die hard phish fan! If you're just gettign into the band, and don't have IT; Get IT first!
I heard some malarkey that this was Phish on the downhill, not true. Right out of the gate 'Song I Heard the Ocean Sing' Trey is in the pocket. And there are a lot of unique jams spread throughout the show that could be labeled compositions in themselves. Lots of music on here and ,one of the reasons Ive been seekin out these DVDs, the sound is superior to any soundboard live audio out there. Useless if your just listen through TV speakers,but if you DVD audio is pumping through a good stereo system - Id buy just for the audio portion.
I'm a new Phan and am slowly completing my Phish collection. This is the second dvd of theirs that I've purchased, the first being Walnut Creek. I bought this only for The Curtain With, which is my all time phavorite Phish tune. But, like any concert, I had to watch it all the way through. The selist is amazing and has some essential Phish songs on it. The production values were stellar. This is perfect for any phan, old and new.
THIS BAND CAN JAM ON IT..PLUS ITS A GREAT PLACE TO PLAY IN CONEY ISLAND.., ALTHOUGH IT WAS RAINY AT TIMES..IVE SEEN THIS BAND WHEN THEY PLAYED WETLANDS IN NYC MANY YEARS AGO ..WHO THOUGHT THEY WOULD GET SO big...ANY WAY ITS A GOOD DVD WITH ALOT OF GOOD ENERGY,, BOY DONT THESE GUYS GET TIRED...MAYBE THEY ARE THEY SAID THIS WAS THERE LAST TOUR...ENJOY!!!!
Honestly, I can't give a review of this dvd because it's a gift for my son...a die-hard Phish Phan since the early 90's. All I can say is I'm sure he'll be thrilled to be able to relive the adventure of seeing this concert in person. And for those phans who weren't as fortunate - this is a great way to experience this now defunct PHenomenal band.
