Yes, Tony Carey had his own solo album out "I won't be home tonight" around the same time when this big MTV video and radio air played song,"Why Me" was all over the place and by today's standards, it's sound was ahead of it's time with semi-electronic/industrial sounds with a reggae rhythm and hard rock vocals and guitar melodies. The rest of the album is also very good, very similar to the Alan Parsons Project, but I mainly purchased this CD for that very particular track, which honestly, I like to put on "repeat" and to also to physically to have, hold, and own.

Planet P Project: Tony Carey (vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar); Dave Thomas (vocals); John Daansen, Robert Musenpichler, Helmut Bibl (guitar); Hartmut Pfannmueller, Fritz Matzka, Peter Hauke (drums, percussion). Recorded at Hotline Studios, Frankfurt, Germany. Planet P Project, known originally as simply Planet P, is the studio brainchild of producer Peter Hauke, and an American expatriate living in Germany, Tony Carey, who had played for a while with Deep Purple. Carey wrote all of the songs and played various instruments on the band's 1983 debut album Planet P Project. The music is layered in synthesizers and has a decidedly dated feel to it, while Carey's lyrics tend toward bleak expressions of isolation.
Some poeple might didn't get it back in 1983 and they probably don't get it know. The world as I knew it was much different then. Since then I have served in two wars, and still it amazes me that I find Toney Carey's space theme music in his 1983 Planet P Project Album, fresh. It's not at all like the rest of the early 80's music which was prevalent with synthesized gimmicks, but I must say it is an acquired taste. This simply is a must have for nostalgia buffs!
Unusual sound, interesting style of music!
