Brilliant album from the Japan boys - I, like many others, can't understand why David Sylvian insisted on the new name which meant that this album didn't come to the attention of many Japan fans till years after it's release. This album carries on where Tin Drum/Exorcising Ghosts left off with David Sylvian's enigmatic vocals and Mick Karn's inimitable basslines which take the listener back to earlier compositions. If you're a Japan fan you can't help but love this album. Buy it now!! Only comparable to (the highly recommended)solo albums by Mick Karn - get well soon Mick!!
i bought this album mostly unheard, because i am a huge fan of japan, this band being mostly comprised of members of that group. unfortunately david sylvian's vocals are in the same pretentious mode as his solo work. for completists this is a must, but don't expect anything like japan's stuff. think "songs of the beehive" and "gone to earth" and you are close.
