Write a review..? That's what I'm supposed to do here huh? Well here's a freakin review- "Best album I own, hands down" I have a lot too. These songs are sonically some of the best I've ever heard. The general "sound" may be a bit familiar dating back to 50's music or the like, but Nick kicks the door down with this album and brings this music right into your face. He is by no means "biting" anyone else's style. He simply took his influences and sprinkled a whole lot of his own style on top and rewrote how its supposed to be done. He doesn't fall short of the mark, he steps OVER it. Here's an example: When I'm in the mood to listen to heavy music, I typically know that I can grab any trusy ole' Slayer or Pantera cd and know that it will wet my appetite. I don't typically seek out a lot of new music in that particular genre because I know that I have my go-to artists and can rely on them to do the job and everything else won't be "quite" as good as the measuring stick and bar that is already set.. This album here is different. He's not "hoping" you like him because he's "almost" as good as Little Richard, he's better. Not even kidding. Sorry if you don't like me saying it. Being a musician myself, I'm envious but quite happy to have discovered this. On the first listen I was sold, on the second, third and fourth I started realizing how perfect this is.. I'd still be saying this even if he hadn't passed away. RIP Nick. You were a Monster.Read full review
This is one amazing record. From Little Richard rock and roll to girl group heartache to down and dirty blues, Nick Curran does it all. He is an excellent singer (sounds like Little Richard at times), and one hell of a guitar player. This is authentic rock and roll played by guys who get it.
This is hands down Nick Curran's most gritty rockin' release yet!! Luv the way he covers AC/DC's "Rocker" in a Little Richard style! I can't say a negative thing about the whole album! Solid!!
