This album is one of 4 that Miles and his quintet, which at the time included the great John Coltrane, Red Garland, Philly Joe Jones and Paul Chambers, knocked out in two sessions in 1956. Anyone interested in hard bop should get them. As far as I am concerned the 4 albums function as one release. I love all four. There's a reason why this quintet was regarded as one of the best, of not THE best, in jazz.
