I've listened to Journey since high school, but when I learned Steve Perry was no longer with the band I got upset. For years I never bothered to listen to the new lead singer Arnel Pineda, but I decided to listen to a song or two on YouTube last week by Arnel and I realized he's just as good as Steve Perry. So I bought this album and been listening to it since it got delivered yesterday. If you're a true Journey fan get yourself a copy of this album.

This was an unexpected release to me, but unexpected things are the most satisfying ones, especially when this comes from such a legendary band like Journey. This product is following the same sales approach used by The Eagles (another legend from the 70s) with its 'Long Road Out of Eden', by selling the product - at least initially - only on Walmart, which proved to be a success strategy. Not only fans will find eleven brand new songs, but also a great revisit to some of their classics and an amazing DVD. Three discs for the price of one (folks, if the music industry wants to survive these tough digital times, that's what they have to do - offer more for the same money). Journey, with respect to their fans and no bonds to the Big Four music companies, captured this essence and delivered a material which is, without a doubt, of high quality and is definitely worth the price. As for the songs, both for the new and the renewed ones, it is possible to notice that Journey kept their very well-known sonority of two decades ago, changing one thing or another, but keeping the same basic notes. Wow! Well I didn't think that *anyone* could match Steve Perry but this new singer is GREAT! I want to say that although Steve Perry stated behind the music that he never felt a part of Journey, I feel he was wrong. He made Journey and I miss his voice and membership in the group. But the "show must go on" and if you love or even like Journey as a group. Go see them! Although I'd love to see the "band get back together" I see Steve's side of the breakup. He was having major medical problems during their last big hit which wasn't too long ago, but you have to choose yourself sometimes when you don't know the outcome. I also understand that the band needed to tour during Steve's medical problems. Steve Perry will be missed, but Journey sounds like old Journey and their new alblum is NOT a disappointment. i was told before to purchase this cd because this is a very nice album from journey and they said that the band have an amazing frontman that really sounds like steve perry. and that made me interested to get one since there are some songs from journey that are my favorite. it's a good thing that i am on ebay, so i tried to look for this album and PRESTO!!! it's on auction that time so i give my best to get this album which comes with a dvd that makes my money worth it. wow! the new frontman really has a pipe! i got this cd last november 20, 2009 and i am recommending it to everybody. all the previous songs of journey was sang very well by Arnel Pineda as well as their new set of songs. everything is excellent!!!
I am a huge journey fan. I love all music for the lyrics and the stories told. Anyone that is a fan of journey and loves live music will absolutely be kicking themselves for not owning this set sooner. Arnel Pinada puts on a stunning performance and lets face it, sounds almost identical. His smile and energy are contagious and this is a great dvd to throw on the surroud sound and large tv and have some drinks too with that special someone. You will not be displeased. If you are, then you truly dont like the band Journey and you will struggle to find happiness in life!!! Point Blank Period.
