If you are into guitar, and speed, melody and creativity impress you then this is well worth buying. It was the first album of its genre, by the first and still current king or neo-classical metal, Yngwie Malmsteen. The techniques used musically are out of this world as he shreds over the harmonic scale, in a reminiscence of baroque and paganini. But don't wory if you are not big on calssical music because malmsteen brings a modern, catchy, and powerfull twist to it that few can resist. However it is predominantly an instrumental album with only two vocal songs on the album. So if you want a sing along you would be advised to try one of his later albums which are more mixed. Additionally if you are into the soft and slow stuff perhaps this will be a bit too much. But that doesn't mean it's not beautiful and melodic! Oh no! The music has a fluidity and grace to it that few shredders ever achive! One of the astonishing things about this album is that some of his trademark work done on it (black star and far beyond the sun), he wrote at only seventeen year of age! Overall a must have for the seriouse guitar/rock/metal/neo-classical fan!Read full review
