Amazing CD!
Any fan of Rusted Root simply must have this album! I loved this band since I was a kid, and this was the first CD I ever bought. Though I lost the original CD years ago, this time around the CD was a lot cheaper and I personally thought it was worth the money of both times I bought it.

When I Woke is a masterpiece from beginning to end. The first track "Drum Trip" is exactly what it sounds like, a drum trip. It gets your blood pumping and just when you think its over, the next track "Ecstasy" chimes in. After that, Send me on my Way, is the third track. After hearing this tune (their most popular) you will recognise who they are. I had an opportunity to meet the band a few years ago, and was floored at the fact that they treated me like I was one of the band. We took pictures, laughed, and talked about their music, their tour, and their future albums. Fantastic Music Especially if Rhythm is your thing.
I have been involved in music and the music biz for over 50 years. This is something different and great. All I can say is listen to it. If you like rhythm and can't tap your foot you are clinically dead. It is always great to hear something that people are writing about other than "my baby left me" or "my girls hotter than yours". Reminds me of the 1960's and early 70's.

A must have for anyone who likes different music from other lands.
Ran into this group via the car ad using the cut of On my Way. This CD contains the best songs from them. Not an un-listenable song on it.I thought they were an African band. But nope! They take the best of several style from different countries and blend them into a combo of rocking music and folk sounds. the lead singer has a tendency to muddle words to the point of not being able to understand them. But his soft, African sound, is soothing enough to make it not matter.Ran into this group via the car ad using the cut of On my Way. This CD contains the best songs from them.
