Joe Seneca was a New York-based singer/songwriter who later became a successful character actor, starring opposite Ralph Macchio in the 1986 Robert Johnson allegory Crossroads. During the 1950's, Seneca was a member of the R&B singing group the Three Riffs who performed at fancy supper clubs all over New York City. Presented here are 2 singles Seneca cut in 1959 and 1960: 1959's "Overnight Success" b/w "Rick-A-Chick" and 1960's "Forty Days And Forty Nights" b/w "Talk to Me, Talk to Me" which became a big hit for Little Willie John. As a songwriter, Seneca later had another big hit in 1962 with "Break It to Me Gently" sung by Brenda Lee, which also became a hit in 1982 when it was redone by Juice Newton.
