This CD contains live versions of some of U2's early hits ("Gloria", "I Will Follow", "Sunday Bloody Sunday", and "New Year's Day"). The live feeling throughout the CD is well captured and the sound quality is good. I only wish there were two or three more of their best known hits on the CD and a greater number of songs in general, as there are only eight. I just prefer when CDs have a larger number of songs to listen to (at least 15 or 16). Despite my saying that, overall this is still a really good CD and I definitely recommend it.

Any big U-2 fan knows this disc well; it is a recording of songs during the WAR tour. What Rattle and Hum was for the Joshua Tree tour, Under a Blood Red Sky is for the War tour. The difference here is the raw, unpolished sound of U-2 at their early days. The band is truly brilliant in all stages, but each one has its own distinct style, sound and flavor. The WAR phase that this album represents highlights the band's raw energy as well as Bono's clumsy lyrics...which, of course, make the progression to poetry around The Unforgettable Fire. This album is high energy, and its renditions of "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day" are some of the best-known live versions of songs ever recorded. Although the disc is small, meaning there aren't a lot of songs on it, every one is a gem. Don't miss it.Read full review
Been looking for this album for a while!I"m an 80's teeny bopper so this album is a real trip!I remember the video of them performing "Under a Blood Red Sky" on MTV!That was when they were cool back in the day!{MTV I"m speaking of}.I consider this album a must have for all fans of 80's music or a fan of U2.The only "bad"experience I have is thinking how I am whenI play it!
Hearing New Year's Day live is worth the price of admission alone...the rest is icing on the cake.
