The fact that there were only a few thousand copies made ever was the main reason I purchased. Sure, you can download the whole cd online, but if you are a NIN junkie like me, you have to own a copy. Some favorite songs include "Head Down," "The Demon Seed," and "Echoplex." This isn't "The Downward Spiral" either, more like the recent "With Teeth" or "Year Zero." Reznor still has his growl and lustful lull on this album, but I was most intrigued by the lyrics. If you are moved by the genius behind NIN, you won't be disappointed.
I happened to be a big NIN fan and I have to say that once I get past "Discipline" I'll be more than hooked on the rest of the CD. I bought it for the one song, after hearing it only once on the radio and finding it online for my listening pleasure, but it's not nearly as nice as having the disk to drive around with, speakers blaring. The sound quality alone is worth buying it for, and once I fill up I spending at least an hour driving around with the windows open. I love it, it's terrific and I can't wait to listen to the rest of it, but for now, I'm rocking to Discipline because I just can't rehab myself on that beat! Rock on TRENT!
Coming from a long time devoted Nine Inch Nails fan I have to be honest when I say this album was not what I had hoped for from Trent Reznor. The DVD was great and I enjoyed watching the band live since Trent never fails to make a wonderful performance but I found the album The Slip lacking Reznor's unique creative workmanship. There was a couple songs worth listening to and if you are a Nine Inch Nail's enthusiast I recommend purchasing this album for collection sake, since this counts as Halo 27 in the long line of EP and LP Halo's (albums).
Great album, sounds like studio recordings with crowd noise. I recommend for all NIN fans.
