Admirable Talent
I bought this CD since i knew i liked the artists involved, and i already had the singles from it in my collection. 'Inside' by Presence will fit comfortably with your tastes if you like: Fools Dance; The Cure; Wire; Duran Duran. Besides being another excellent vehicle for the voice of Gary Biddles, the great talent of the band are perfectly showcased track to track. This CD has it all- angst laden rock, pop dance tunes, introspective ballads, nothing is overdone or under stated here. One of my favorite tracks is 'Highest Peak' which is a rock orchestration that's cleverly reminiscent of 'Hall Of The Mountain King.' I bought this CD about a month ago because I was very curious to hear what this band sounded like during their brief existence since many of its members were also involed with The Cure, my favorite band, in some capacity. Lol Tolhurst was of course the original drummer, Gary Biddles was a one-time guest singer, and Roberto Soave filled in Simon Gallup on bass during the European leg of the Wish Tour. All in all I really enjoy listening to this album, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who might be interested in buying it. I also read in an interview with Lol Tolhurst that the band did record a second album before they finally decided to put their act to rest.
