This version of the album gives one access to the updated 2004 remaster of the music, as well as the enhanced audio in stereo and surround sound. I purchased this item only to have the DVD-Audio side. This side plays amazinlgy in both 5ch and stereo. The surround mode is where this album really shines and you can hear all of fine music details Reznor put in the album. While playing some of his artwork displays in th background adding atmoshere to each track. Great album, great 5.1 surround.
On the first side (top) of the Downward Spiral disc, it includes the original version of The Downward Spiral in high quality 5.1 surround sound. And, the second side (bottom), which includes the full remix disc to the Downward Spiral (as found in the Deluxe Edition). In addition, probably NIN's most influencial CD of all time. One of my favorites of all time, a must have for all collectors and fans.
