Stackridge's first offering is a unique medley of inventive rock, written as a collection of songs about unknown 'comic book heroes.' In addition to creative lyrics and original melodies, this album stands out as the type of music that makes rock great. The premise is unparalleled, and some of the rifts are in the same caliber as Beatles or Badfinger. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite albums. It's too bad that their later work, while remaining unique, was more muddled and lacked the vitality and brilliance of this first work. Slark is an all-time favorite, and many of these melodies continue to ring in my mind. From Percy's cucumber wings to the 3 legged table, this album is a one-of-a-kind trip through rock-o-mania.
CD is technically excellent.
