Some of the drum sounds on some of the tracks are a bit stiff and metallic soudning, wich I doubt are present on the analogue tapes. That means dont play this tunes on a to high volume. Over all, the music sounds pretty much okay. I also wonder if there could have been added some extra bonus tracks on the this CD, of alternative takes or songs wich was excluded on the vinyl issue. 38 minutes of music is a bit small in length. But Steve sings well during those days and this album is still worth to have.
I may be a bit biased, but I first heard this when my then-husband bought the album in the summer of 1980. I was 5 months pregnant with our daughter Sarah, and was instantly drawn to the sweet sounds of Steve Walsh's voice combined with his poignant lyrics. He is and has always been, the essence of "Kansas", and it is no more evident than in this recording! What a variety of sounds~~track 6 still brings me to tears but Walsh's rock-hard soul shines throughout!! I absolutely LOVE this recording and highly recommend it to anyone who is an afficianado or former fan of Kansas! Steve Walsh truly delivers!!! Becky

Hard to find CD. I have the original as a record and Steve Walsh has the most amazing voice ever. The vocals will send chills down your spine. If you like Kansas, you'll love his solo album. My favorite song is #6 (Call these flatland Kansas). A must have for a Kansas fan.
