I am a 30-something child of the 80's that was watching the VH-1 80's segment and Asia's "Only time will tell" came on. There is something about those early videos with their fairly cheap production values and whatever stupid gimmicks they might have come up with. Moreover, as this was the beginning of the video revolution musicians/bands did not have to or were just beginning to learn that they had to look "cool." Consequently, many bands of that age were either not beautiful or not "cool" and hip looking. There is just something about those videos that is far superior to the modern $1 million videos with some super-hip goofball and his posse. Perhaps it's more honest. Or perhaps I'm just old and showing my age. Soooo, there I am watching "Only time will tell" and the video's theme is fairly simple- seemingly hundreds of video monitors strewn all about with the four different members of the band each in a seperate monitor and a female gymnast in slo-mo doing flips and handsprings and cartwheels and such over and around the monitors. All of a sudden I got a major Asia jones. First I went to the Internet and looked into Asia. I was surprised to learn they were a supergroup made up of members of Yes, King Crimson and Emerson Lake and Palmer. Knowing the fans of those groups I can only assume that there are Asia groupies wandering around here and there. However, none of that is my thing- I am strictly into pop so I was only concerned with two Asia songs- "Heat of the Moment" and "Only Time Will Tell." And thankfully, they were on the same album and even more conveniently, they were the first and second song on said album (so I didn't have to shuffle or constantly hit the "back" button on my CD player). Anyway, after looking into this and that I finally did an E-Bay search and quite a few Asia albums popped up. I put my bid in for the album of my choice, won the auction and I have been in Asia heaven since it arrived in the mail. Offhand, I have listened to the other (non-hit) songs on the album and they did nothing for me (which is why I rated this album 4/5 instead of 5/5). But "Heat of the Moment" and "Only Time Will Tell" are a greatest hits album by themselves.Read full review
Asia' music debut from 1980 is so awesome. My favorite track is Heat of the Moment which is also one of my favorite all time classic rock tunes. This is also an excellent introduction to the band's first effort and even those music fans who were not around in the 80's can appreciate Asia's music overall. My personal recommendation and there is also a Best of Asia hits compilation on cd which contains the hit song mentioned here. Classic 80's rock does not get any better than this!
DON'T LAUGH, I LIKE ASIA'S MUSIC. WELL, THIS ALBUM, AND A FEW OTHER SONGS. I FIRST BOUGHT THE FIRST GREATEST HITS CD, BUT IT WAS RECORDED BAD. THEN, I BOUGHT THE LAST GREATEST HITS CD. IT WAS RECORDED BETTER, BUT DIDN'T HAVE ALL MY FAVORITE SONGS. SO, I BOUGHT THIS ONE (1982 DEBUT), AND MADE MY OWN GREATEST HITS CD. ALL OF THESE SONGS ARE ON MY VERSION. I BET YOU DON'T KNOW MANY ROCKERS THAT LIKE ASIA, AND METAL!! (NOT DEATH METAL) THAT'S JUST THE WAY I AM!! PEACE OUT!!

Greetings all, This album still sounds as sweet as it did back in the day, even though some of the lyrics seem less sterling than they used to ... .
