Rock Pop, sums it all up. Its a clear declaration of Stone Temple Pilots stemming away from their grunge sound and finding a new middle ground. This seems odd through refreshing to a STP fan familiar with Purple and Core. Pop's Love Suicide has a very poppy sound and like pop, you can get sick of it. Not the case as with time your grow use to the sound and welcome it. It only gets better with time and with songs like Big Bang Baby, Lady Picture Show, and Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart. This album brings a new sound to STP's fans. a great listen to, but if you must, the singles or LP's would suffice. Perhaps even the Greatest Hits album Thank You could fill your order of Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop.
Tiny Music,Stone Temple Piolots 1996 CD, is one of the best CD's they made. It's a mix of heavy metal, guitar driven songs and pop songs about Art School girlfriends. It is high energy, happy, and great to use when baby sitting little kids. Music you can dance to. I really like this CD by Stone Temple Pilots.
By far my favorite of the STP albums. It's amazing that Brendan O'Brien managed to get the vocal performances out of Scott Weiland that he did. Especially when you consider the fact that he had a HORRENDOUS heroin addiction. This album drips swagger, attitude, and all the stuff that makes rock music what it is. There is simply no messing around on this album. The DeLeo brothers are simply amazing players and with Eric Kretz who lays down the drums like it's the LAW. Fact of the matter is, this album is worth buying even if you have to sell off all of the lame [junk] you may be harboring in your record collection.
I had forgotten how great of an album this was! A modern classic of it's day! Amazing!
