This CD was EXCELLENT! I've been a fan of Theocracy for a while, but this album blew me away. Their lyrics and music have progressively gotten better with each album, but this one was a massive jump! I received this album sometime in mid-January, and I have listened to it virtually non-stop ever since. The music is constantly changing, and there are a variety of different sounds throughout the album -- hard & heavy, fast and progressive, mild and symphonic, mild and melodic; Theocracy has it all covered! ***** On the Christian side of it, the lyrics are unquestionably powerful. Meaningfully deep lyrics, with messages in each song (unlike the weakened, repetitive, and empty songs that seem to clutter the "Christian music" genre), and the musical tones & moods to match them perfectly. "I AM", the 10 minute opening song, was an AWESOME example of that! Normally I can't stick to one song for more than 7 minutes at max: but I can listen to "I AM" all the way through, repeatedly! The music is excellent, and they even threw in a unique Celtic-style rhythm (which was very unique, and sounded great! Very pleasing to the ear) half way into the song. If I had to describe "I AM", I would say the first thing that comes to mind is "Righteous Warrior" -- because it has powerful lyrics, and has hard & heavy, fast & progressive, and mild and symphonic elements all incorporated into that one song. It has the heavy yet uplifting sound, and keeps a "warrior beat/pace." This is by far my favorite song from the album, but there isn't one song that I dislike. "As the World Bleeds" (the closing track) I think could have been a bit shorter, and less drawn out; but again, I don't dislike or skip that song every time it comes around.Read full review
Another great outing from a great band. If you like progressive metal tinging on thrash with Biblical lyrics this is the band for you. Not a noisy band but very talented Get it you'll like it
