The score for "Seven Years in Tibet" combines the talents of John Williams and renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, which was enough for me to want to buy this soundtrack. The themes are well-written and performed (particularly the swelling main theme), and Williams includes traditional chants on the album to evoke the atmosphere and culture of Tibet. Some noteworthy action music comes from Williams throughout the score, but the overall impression "Seven Years in Tibet" will leave you with is the lovely stateliness of the main theme, which is one of the more haunting and romantic themes the composer has ever written. I recommend this score highly to both fans of Williams and Ma! It's a real treat!
