Having bought a lot of Titanic-era CDs, I can say this is one of the better ones out there. Very simple arrangements, straightforward and honnest interpretations of many great songs like "Alexander's Ragtime Band", "That Mesmerizing Mendelssohn Tune", and "Songe d'Automne". The (very brief) liner notes were poorly researched (stating Harold Bride, the Titanic's wireless operator, testified he heard "Nearer My God To Thee" during the very last moments of the great ship when it was in fact "Songe d'Automne" which, ironically, is also included on this CD) but that doesn't take away from the pleasure of the music itself. Overall, a purchase you can't go wrong with.
This was a good value for me. Light enjoyable Edwardian era music, very simple arrangements. Several have vocals--not sure they supported a full choir on the Titanic, but certainly very appropriate period music. I enjoyed the trumpet solos. The fact that there was a bugler on the Titanic is often ignored. Fun!
