...PARCHED THROAT ON A HOT SUMMER DAY! It's real sad that this Grammy-Worthy album was overlooked by the Grammy Voters! This doesn't surprise me when Herbie Hancock (And music lovers) are STILL trying to figure how HE WON FOR ALBUM OF THE YEAR??? There is not a bad track to be found here! If I just had to pick the Steller Performances they would be: "E Preciso Perdoar", "I'm Glad There Is You", which features Freddy Cole on Vocals!, "Please Send Me Someone To Love", "Overjoyed" which features Freddy Cole on Vocals, and "For Heaven's Sake" which Freddy Cole & Jeanie Bryson on Vocals! You might want to note that Jeanie Bryson has 4 (Four) incredible Albums under her own name! Jazz connaiseurs don't seem to like Grover Washington Jr. Is his music too "commercial"? I don't know and I don't mind at all. This is an excellent standarts jazz CD, played by talented musicians, with delightful taste, and it sounds great!! After hard work, you need to relax, and it ain't nothing better than hearing this kind of music. After that, try to LISTEN carefully to the music, and you'll be surprised of how fine, delicate and inspired was Grover. Now that he's gone, probably time will tell that G. Washington Jr. was one the greatest in jazz history ... I hope so.
