This is the album that should have been released initially in 1976. The original version was the weakest Tull album - apart from the quality of the lyrics. The band doesn't seem to contribute very much to the music, unlike other Tull albums. This re-recording for a tv special - remixed by Steven Wilson - is one of the best Tull albums. It may even become my number one! THE BAND IS ON FIRE. Guitars weaving with John Evans' keyboards - which could hardly be heard on the previous recordings, more drumming and flute and Ian Andersons' vocals genuinely emotional and strong. David Palmers' orchestral arrangements, hardly audible before, are sublime and powerful. A must buy, not only for fans of the band but any music fan.

Most of DVD one is a TV show with a re-recorded version of the album in 5.1. There are only 5 songs mixed in 5.1 from the original album (no Quizz Kid, no Taxi Grab) but the TV version is growing on me. Odd that they recorded the same music in the studio twice. I have edited this review twice now and upped it a star each time. The TV show lip sync video is a nice change from your standard DVDA and Wilson does it again with a superb 5.1 remix. DVD two is unreleased stereo remixes that were originally unreleased for a good reason. DVD two also has a flat transfer from the original stereo master and the original quad, but that quad's fidelity leaves me wanting better, especially after listening to Wilson's 5.1. I just wish I could buy the DVD only and stop paying $35 a crack for these Tull DVD's. Read full review

Good Price for this hard to find Steven Wilson remix. Interesting to compare this version which was recorded for a television special with the original vinyl.
