I have been out of touch with the world of Tori since strange lttle girls and what little I heard on the radio of Scaerlet's Walk. I was hoping she had gone back to her roots of Earthquakes but, to no avail. The album is good and is growing on me. It reminds me of some of her work on Choirgirl but seems a bit more bland, more commercial than Tori, if that makes sense. There is much more to it than just the piano and Tori's voice and no a copalla which I felt were her best qualities as an artist! Too much back up band and singers, than the old heart pulling chords of Tori's voice and piano, and the combination of the two too rip your heart out or breathe new life in to it as life has done to hers. Granted, no one artist can tell another in which direction to go but, I as one artist to another hopes that she doesn't lose the soul in her music that only she could pull from a baby grand the way she does and express it in such a complex yet simple way to pull me in to her shoes and let it drag my heart directly to a place that so much makes me relate to even the off notes that can bring tears of sadness, joy, and even both at the same time. I still have a few albums to catch up on so, I still have hope. Love ya Tori and thank you for helping me finale make the connection between my heart and my soul. You have touched my life in a way that no one else ever has. May the fairies always fly with you and let you share your heart with ours..... J.Read full review
There hasnt been or ever will be any greater singer song writer than Tori Amos. Everything that comes from her direction is perfection. Excellent CD and came with a DVD. Strongly urge anyone to buy anything by Tori Amos.
