Notes
'This band is really very original and out of the box. They play in full freedom and without referring back to precise models. Without many resources behind they have created a truly progressive and exciting show.' --- www.rock-impressions.com Italy 'Chest Rockwell is a good band indeed, but I do not regard them as a typical Progressive act. The combination of Independent Rock with elements of Progressive Rock will certainly turn them into an instantaneous favorite among young listeners, mostly habituated to "modern" Progressive. Highly recommended for fans of "Porcupine Tree", "Riverside", "The Mars Volta", "Muse", "Iron Maiden", and so on.' --- Marcelo Trotta (www.progressiverockbr.com) Brazil 'I can only make compliments to these experimentalists of rock.' --- http://progrock.blogmusicale.it Italy 'Changing themes accompanies the listener throughout it's path, showing undoubtedly the considerable capacity and technique of this band and tingly vein of composition. It is a work accessible to a wide audience.' 70/100 --- Andrea Marchegiani (www.artistsandbands.org) Italy 'I usually stay away from the indie music genres, but Total Victory is such an interesting album with very quirky songs and their structures. Well done and I think many will like it, especially if you are into indie music that takes some chances and experiments a bit.' 3.5/5 --- www.rateyourmusic.com 'Combining a variety of styles like alternative, indie, pop and prog, Chest Rockwell is a young band that needs to be heard.' --- Jon Neudorf (Best of 2009 seaoftranquility.org) 'At this point it is clear that the band has defined it's proposal, consistent in style and in sound-image relationship. Though one finds references offered before by any of the monsters of rock music, including progressive, in originality what Chest Rockwell gives us is greater than the influence of other bands. Congratulations! CHEST ROCKWELL, thanks for the albums, and already I feel like listening to a new album.' 9/10 --- Alfredo TAPIA-CARRETO (manticornio.com) Mexico '...a beautiful vitality...a breakthrough musically speaking' --- Music Waves (www.musicwaves.fr) France '...undeniably contains enough distinctive features to attract the attention of those with a more open-minded perspective. Everything about the band - from their name to the faintly disturbing cover art - spells a kind of genuine quirkiness, and a desire to push boundaries in a way that avoids the overly cerebral, out-of-left-field approach of many contemporary bands, while retaining that intriguing quality that is essential to good progressive rock.' 5.5/6 --- Raffaella Berry (www.progressor.net) Uzbekistan 'Chest Rockwell has made a name for itself as an unpredictable act, incorporating a multitude of different stylistic elements on their albums as well as in each individual composition. Challenging music taking on a number of different stylistic expressions in a creative manner. I'll give this one my recommendation; one of the better and also one of the most intriguing albums I've encountered so far in 2009.' 5.5/6 --- Olav M Bjornsen (www.progressor.net) Uzbekistan 'Chest Rockwell is a pleasant surprise. They make excellent use of multiple clean guitars, maintaining an effervescent sound that doesn't get bogged down, yet keep some delightful treats tucked away in their 2009 album.' 3/5 --- Robert Brown, Jr (www.progarchives.com) 'Once again, they record all in just three days. This must be the fastest group in the country at the present time. They assert themselves. They do not lack much left for them to hoist the big one.' 3.5/5 --- Jean-Pierre Lhoir (www.musicinbelgium.net) Belgium 'This young and quirky indie band shows a breadth and scope that make them a more than viable hope for the area's rock future. There's a vision here that gives these guys an edge over peers...a wide array of textures and styles. Total Victory is a solid effort... I'll be interested to hear them progress further.' --- Todd Za
