Originally purchased this CD is a "mom and pop" CD store that allowed you to preview their offerings. Upon have the priviage of hearing this Masterpiece, I was totally moved by the Words and Music although I had no idea who Kevin or fellow bandmate Patrick Leonard were at that time. Amazing musicianship and fantastic song craftsmanship make this CD so great! To this day, some 18 years later, this is one of the most important releases ever - period! Be sure to check out "The Shaming Of The True" - another Kevin Gilbert Masterpiece. Kevin Gilbert was a Genius! RIP KMG...
There is far more to the story behind Kevin Gilbert than I know or can include here. I found this CD through a friend and am really happy to have discovered something this good that I had no idea was out there. It's a pretty 'crisp' recording, but amazingly arranged and great to listen to from beginning to end. I have not gotten anything else from Kevin yet, but plan to soon. As too often is the case with great work, it's too bad there won't be any more from him. If you like Marillion, Morphine or Lyle Lovett, you should try this. It's more pop flavored than those, but worth a listen.
This is an incredibly well well-written, well-recorded and well-engineered CD from the early Nineties. Incredible rock-pop album and well worth a listen!
