One of the best configurations of the ever-changing Fleetwood Mac, Bare Trees was Bob Welch at his best and the emergence of Christine Perfect McVee as a singer-musician. After 1970's Then Play On , founder Peter Green ( author of Oh Well and Black Magic Woman) left the band. This left the mighty rythm section of drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVee along with guitarist Danny Kirwin, new frontman Bob Welch and Chistine McVee. The interplay of welch and Kirwin is creamy and well-matched. This line-up would put together three strong albums--Future Games, Mystery to me and the tasty Bare Trees. Hits include Sentimental Lady, Child of Mine, Homeword Bound and the title track Bare Trees. Fleetwood Mac fans should also try other CDs from this era- Kiln House, Future Games, and Mystery to Me. Great guitar/vocal interplay. Craig "Mr R" RousselotRead full review
when this first came out in 1972, i bought the cassette tape - i wore it out - LOVED every song on it - played it over again and again - now over 30 years later, i have the cd to wear out - am so glad to listen to this terrific music again - i believe that this album is one of the best albums that fleetwood mac put out (pre stevie nicks) so full of wonderful lyrics and terrific guitar work and phenomenal drumming - will be rocking to this music for another 30 years - glad to be another happy fleetwood mac fan - definately get this music
Listen to this album and you will have 20/20 hindsight to the success that was soon coming. There are some lesser known songs that are smooth and easy to listen to. You really can hear the legendary Fleetwood Mac sound forming as they try different things on this album. The music lacks the full bodied sound of later albums, but still stands on its own merits. Worth a listen to, again and again.

This was the first Fleetwood Mac album that I owned. It was before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks was in the band. I really like the album, but it's not the Fleetwood Mac that people know now.
