Rated "Good" but near "Excellent". This is a classic Spirit album at their peak of production. I spent many more hours listening to the first three Spirit releases with 'Spirit' and "The Family that Plays Together" being my favorite for lasting appeal. Don't misunderstand me, 12 Dreams is terrific and has some of the best Spirit moments....but 12 Dreams also contains some of the most 'commercial moments' and as such dosen't have the legs of earlier, dreamier releases that required more from the listener and were, in their time, more unique.....That being said, much of the early Spirit releases are still musically valid to those who appreciate the classic rock era and understand rock and roll. Spirit was 'smart' music that could take you to magical places. Their music reminds me of many wonderful times. Spirit was underrated.Read full review
I give a poor rating to all remastered releases that contain "Bone Us Tracks". If you are looking for the original, good luck. It seems that music companies think they are doing us a favor by adding cuts that were not on the original. Sorry boys and girls most of us that are looking for the older releases are looking for the original content and are not likely to be sucked in by the worm on a hook that you call "Bone Us Tracks". I have found the originals and cherrish them even if I have to contend wih a scratch or two. I will keep looking for the ones that I have not found yet. Anybody know were I can find "Jimmy Hendricks Rare Hendricks" without the extra crap? If they have all these previously unreleased matertial put it on a seprate release and make money!!!! If you have not heard this great album before you will enjoy the original tracks and have no clue that the bone us tracks do not belong. The Old FreakRead full review
I remember hearing this "album" a long time ago, maybe in the 70"s. Randy California jammed with the greatest guitarist on the planet and my favorite all-time rock 'n' roller, Jimi Hendrix. The Twelve Dreams takes you on a trip, not unlike a raft ride on a wilderness river. The quiet and safety of the meandering flow is abruptly interrupted by the excitement of the approaching unknown. Once you enter the rapids and feel the energy building, you want more and Spirit keeps you going, takes you on that ride and then, without notice, your back on the easy and trying to figure out what just happened. They keep it interesting and there's never a moment when you wish you were somewhere else. Each time I listen to Dr. Sardonicus, I rediscover something from my youth that makes me glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's.Read full review
Any serious collector of rock should have this in their collection. This re-master does include some tracks that weren't on the original vinyl but they are mono. The quality is still there though.

One of the most phenomenal albums of all time. I would give it ten stars if I could. I've have just about every format (8track, cassette, vinyl x3, CD). I must say that the Legacy SBM CD is the absolute best. Kudos to the engineer that saved the master tapes from ... everyone else! The MFSL sucks by comparison. Don't buy the silver MoFi CD.
