Only really wanted the cd for the track 'Cornflake Girl'. However the rest of the tracks are pretty good too - not the sort of thing I usually listen to but definitely worth a play. Tori Amos has a unique vocal style.
It takes a few listens to get into. Once you do however, and certainly if you enjoyed 'Little Earthquakes' you'll also enjoy this. 'The Wrong Band' sounds like something from a musical melodically but then we have the singing, the lyrics, her character. These songs are all infused with her character. You can get to know her, or at least imagine that you do, just by listening. Some of the songs on the latter half of the album do take some time to understand, 'Icicle' takes time to get going. 'Yes, Anastasia' is nine minutes long but does add dramatic orchestration amid many classical piano parts. 'Space Dog' has a funky rhythm and is a good little tune, adding variety and tempo. The piano interludes are beautiful, again. She is beautiful and this is another great album just a shade behind her acclaimed debut proper.Read full review
I like the piano and voice of the musician and singer Tori Amos. This is not gonna be the last cd of her musci that I´ll buy.
