Uriah Heep is a interesting band to follow for their first 6 or 7 albums. This album, their 3rd, was the first to be noticed worldwide and for good reason. It's hard to find a track not to like on this one from start to finish. Uriah Heep always(and still do) had a very clean, not noisy sound that really began here. Although Uriah Heep is classified normally as a hard rock band, it's hard to put a label on them because there were no areas they did not touch upon. This album and the next (Demons and Wizards) were recording masterpieces. The two albums launched the band into almost superstardom. Unfortunately, albums were released afterward that sounded manufactured. Tracks: Look at Yourself-A fast hard start for the album. You can hear "Easy Livin'" and "Stealin'" about to be born. I wanna be Free-A great song! One of the completely forgotten tunes. Will it ever surface again????????? July Morning-One of the bands all-time best. Get it all here! Tears in my Eyes- What can you say? Sometimes you can't do songs any better. There are only other great songs. A must listen. You'll wonder why you never heard it before. Shadows of Grief-A little over the top and nicely done. What should be Done- A slowie and good tune! Love Machine-This one ends the album as it began: Loud and strong! A good example of Uriah Heep's strong but clean sound. Try this one for sure!Read full review
this is a really good cd if you liked them back in the 70's i heard some songs i hadn't heard for years that haven't made there greatest hits but are still good songs. over half the songs are really good its a good buy
I remember when this came out, it was one of the best albums of 1971 and still sounds great today! I Wanna Be Free, Tears In My Eyes, and Love Machine are my favorite tracks. But the whole cd rocks! This was a very unique band and cd with great chemistry and creative energy!
This album is hard, fast, ear-bleeding, melodic, heavy metal the way it was done in the early 70s. One of their best. Highly recommended if you like early Uriah Heep and don't have this yet.
Gotta be Uriah heeps best album. Had it on 8 track about 1974,so I wasnt disapointed. Older production values; should prolly be remastered, but great the way it is.
