The Album marks morre progressive change in Gabriels Music, specially with midi mixers and Orchestration. His work in Amnesty International and continued experimentations in Universal truths are evident in this Album. The music is much more "funk-a-delic" , but good. While subtle, the song "digging in the Dirt" relays the feelings and pain he experienced during his divorce. Anyone that has undergone same will empathize with it. Some of the continuity is lost with too many topics, and some songs would of fit better in a second album though Overall it is a good album.
I enjoy his earlier work personally.

Peter Gabriel is an Artist and he always has a vision for his work...even if I don't completely see what he's getting at. Admitidly I'm a much bigger fan of his over the top experimental projects but albums like Us still appeal to me. Sure it's pop but it's far from mainstream commercial crap. It's quirky and unusual and at times even avant-garde. 3 1/2 Stars.
It's peter gabriel
