I was fascinated with an article in the Sunday Tribune about artists from the 70's that I was unfamiliar with. This was bound to happen, I surely don't know everyone who laid a couple of tracks down and pressed them on vinyl, but I still found it surprising that these names meant nothing to me. With the aid of our new found friend eBay, it was easy to find a good deal on these CD's and soon I had them in hand. Upon first listen to Diamond Day I thought, maybe a bit sing-songy, but there was something about it that haunted and beckoned me to listen again, which I did. And again, and again. How could I have missed this beautiful note on perfect yet seemingly childlike voice? What was it about these songs and their arrangements in their simplicity that touched my soul? Maybe its the power that drew me into the realm of folk music in the first place so many years ago. The storytellers and their love of life, the God given ability to pull us into their world, share their feelings, hopes, dreams and sorrow. There's a reason this album was voted in the top 100 British albums of all time. Hitch up the horse and climb in the wagon with Vashti and let her take the reigns. She will take you back where you began. Lor BlasiRead full review
Looked for this gem of a recording and found it for a great price. Excellent journey into English pastoral folk music.

A charming CD by Vashti Bunyan who deserves a revival. Jog Along Bess is a wonderful folky tune and many of the other tracks are very enjoyable.
