Fish going solo and its excellent
After Marillion Fish went on with his solo career. He hasnt had the huge career I think he deserves but this his first solo album shows the quality and the sheer class of his writing and music. No wonder the pap radio would struggle with giving it deserved air time. My favourite on here is Gentlemans's Excuse Me because the lyrics resonate with me so much but all the tracks are very good and Fish is well worth anyone's money on cd or performing live.

The long awaited first solo album from Marillion front man Fish was the next step in his musical journey. Even now, many years on,the opening bars cause the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up. The album is rightly considered a classic and the regular outing of many of the tracks during live shows further emphasises the importance of 'Vigil..' It's interesting that Fish has continued to produce thought provoking music and lyrics, and his main collaborator on this album, Mickey Simmons has done the same. If you love Fish, and anyone that has experienced him live will, you MUST have this CD in your library. Mine remains in the car, and regularly gets a good airing, at high volume. I would also recommend the recent 'Seven colours...' CD from Mickey Simmons. Mickey has remained true to his prog rock/concept album genre.Read full review

awesome i have dangled the maggot now reel them in
I always enjoyed listening to Marillion, but when they split up, I decided to go and see Fish at Hastings, and from then on I was Hooked. I used to have every tape going and over the years have gradually replaced them with cd`s so I can carry on enjoying the music of Fish. Everyone should have a bit of Fish to play to their friends and reel them in too. also listen to sushi live
