One of those releases where session musos where drafted in long after the artists death to flesh out some of the incomplete tracks. It's always dubious to meddle with an artists work in this way, and the collection feels slighty inauthentic for this reason; that said, it's still a good slab of Hendrix' post-Experience studio work & contains many tracks that have now been collected ( without overdubs ) on the official 'First Rays of the New Rising Sun' LP. The sleeve isn't bad, although the essay inside is a bit pretentious. If you've got the Hendrix-bug, you're probably going to need it anyway, but it has been touched-up in parts, & hence isn't all it might have been.
