This CD sounds like the real, traditional Okinawa. Kadekaru Rinsho was clearly a master: nice, clean sanshin work and nuanced vocals, though it sounds like his voice may have been stronger in his younger years. Some tracks sound like they include duo sanshin, taiko, and two or more voices. Like much traditional music, each songs tends to sound pretty much like the one before, so this disc may not appeal to all. For those of us who enjoy real traditional music, though, the fact that these CDs are still being made is wonderful.
