Being a huge fan of the Flower Kings, Transatlantic, Spock's Beard, Neal Morse and all things progressive, this was an obvious purchase for me. The collection of songs are on the weak side, with too much hard rock guitar and too few progressive elements. The compositions sound like Roine is trying to take a somewhat different tack than the Flower Kings and it just doesn't work for me. The lyrical content is deep, as is typical with Roine, but quite obtuse and at times uses unnecessarily offensive profanity. This release is not the place to find Roine's best efforts. Stick to Flower Kings/TransAtlantic or even Roine's other solo disks (The Flower King and Hydrophonia) to hear a real talent shine.
