If you like Regis on his TV show, you'll probably like this. It's bland but friendly; his style is like your affable Uncle Henry's who sings at parties and hopefully stops after three old favorites. A whole album of his commonplace approach is boring, but he's OK for a while. Fortunately, his wife (who's much more personable than he is, and, I think, more intelligent) joins him for one pleasant duet. This is much earlier than his other CDs, and he sang better at this time than now. Currently, he has pitch problems and a very wooden, inflexible tone.
I enjoy this cd because it the work of a man I do admire and give a lot of credit as an entertainer. The songs are oldies and Regis gives each his own rendition, but if you enjoy individuality of style and sound...you will like this. The voice is definitely true to Regis. His rendition of the Irish lullaby is beautiful and very touching. All in all, a nice cd,
