The Vandals wrote one of the best punk songs ever THE LEGEND OF PAT BROWN. It's what made up the ideals of punk in the 80's. The album has great other tunes making fun of the "want a be's" and "posers" and guys who beat up there girlfriends (SLAP OF LOVE). But on a grander scale they personafy the days of a youth and culture that didn't have to be the norm or standard. Days that were filled with preps, jocks, rednecks, hillbilles and reaganomic republicans. We had GOOD punk rock to listen to like THE VANDALS. Thanks Pat Brown for that "hunting trip.. Trigger slipped.. someone almost died."
A lot of fun songs here but there are also a few lame ones (Lady Killer, Slap Of Love). In my opinion Peace Through Vandalism is the better ep but When In Rome Do As The Vandals Do has some great tunes as well (I love Mohawk Town). All in all an important CD for any punk collection. 4 Stars.
Bring back great times
