Another(long awaited) great CD from the All-Stars of Progressive Rock Music. There is so much talent in these four friends it just flows out. Nobody better in the business. Tangent is an awesome combination of talent as well, but since they lost Roine Stolt's contributions I think their music suffers a little, not that they're not still great. Back to Transatlantic, The Whirlwind is, as always, well written and well performed. I've heard and read some complaints about Neal Morse bringing his 'religious' message into Transatlantic's music. Its true he has. But, the music is still great and since Neal has become a Christian what do you expect him to write about? It abviously doesn't bother Roine, Pete, & Mike. Bottom line: The Whirlwind is still a masterpiece of fine modern day Progessive Rock music. Thank you, Gentlemen!Read full review
I have been a fan of this band from the moment I first heard them. This being said, I tried my best to come up with an excellent rating for this cd. However, I was somewhat disappointed. This is not up to their previous recordings. The music just did not grab me the way it did in the past. The cover songs were space fillers as far as I am concerned. Although, I must say that A Salty Dog did surprise me. Soul Sacrifice and Return Of The Giant Hogweed could have been better when you consider the level of talent that these musicians have. All things considered, it is a good cd from some excellent musicians.
I love Transatlantic The Whirlwind. I love Transatlantic The Whirlwind. I love Transatlantic The Whirlwind. I love Transatlantic The Whirlwind. I love Transatlantic The Whirlwind.
From beginning to end an eargasmic experiance. But you need 77 minutes to listen to it all the way through. The best album of 2009
