I hadn't listened to this album since I first purchased it back in the 60's. I had loved " I Can See for Miles" and had bought the single. In the hope that there were more great tracks like that I had bought this album. I was disappointed at the first hearing. 1. There were no other tracks as strong as "Miles." 2. The spoofs of commercials and radio voices was sophomoric and annoying, destroying any continuity the album may have had. Perhaps not being British I may have missed the specific satire or humor. After all these years I've begun to re-evaluate and re-listen to some of the albums like this one that I may have unfairly judged and neglected. For this album I'd read reviews that stated this this was the greatest concept album of all time. Well, I've listened again and it doesn't rate such great reviews. In fact, I find no reason whatsoever to change my original opinions. I was expecting great things but instead find the merely cute and clever.Read full review
Rolling Stone Magazine top 500 album. It is one of the Who"s early records. It is something a true fan will add to their Collection.
