I have been a big fan of It Bites form many years and was in a band myself at that time doing well. Got sign up to one of virgin records subsidiary labels but was not as successful as It Bites. My connection with them is they were from Cumbria in the Lake District north west of England as was I. In fact they were from just up the road from me. There was a battle who would be the first band to make it big from Cumbria. They won and my forfeit was to buy everything they churned out and most of my stuff was on vinyl back in the 80's. I then became a big fan and now wanted to convert all my vinyl to CD and not as copies from vinyl, I wanted originals. eBay being the best possible way of obtaining originals I decided to go for it and to my surprise got this CD album unopened, still in its film wrapping and never played. This CD album is not available from any high street music shop so began to get the rest of the It Bites albums on CD from eBay. Have now completed the collection with some extra bonus CD's. Ihave always been a fan of it bites from the late 80s.Since they split I have follwed the music of there front man francis dunnery.I have been to see him several times and always enjoyed his music.A couple months back I was lucky enough to be selected for a house concert.Francis played at my house it was a fantastic evening.Afterwards I decided to by all 3 it bites albums on cd .This was because all my old ones were on LP.Ebay was the best place to get them from as no high street shops had them .
Contains the single 'Calling all the heros' which was notable by having an excellent synth solo which is a rare things these days in the singles chart. If your a 'muso' you will love the musicianship of this band especially if you are a guitarist as Frank Dunnery had a unique technique and sound. The album's tracks are very varied and the title track which is just acoustic guitar is beautiful. They just don't make interesting pop music like this anymore.
