Godsmack is a band from the greater Boston, Mass area since 1997. A couple band members have changed over the years (drummers), but lead singer Sully Erna's project is truly poised at the level of rock legend. With a hard edged sound, but not metal, or grunge, they are in a category by themselves in todays rock scene. This cd has some of their best music...but, believe me, if you like it, listen to all their cd's... the DVD is awesome. A night at the House of Blues in Las Vegas, with Godsmack "Unplugged" you know, so to speak. Wow. Just great stuff, including some great blues to close it out with old friends of the band and Sully wailing on the harmonica... just classic material. A great package for the Godsmack fan, or someone to get a first appreciation of this great rock band.
When I went searching to replace a DVD that I obtained from a friend some time ago, I couldn't recall the title. All I knew for sure was it was Godsmack LIVE in Vegas. I wasn't able to locate that for which I searched based on that tid-bit of information; However, I found a CD & DVD combo pack for the amazing price of $9.99. I decided to give it a go. I received my package in less than a week and promptly popped in the DVD. Low and behold....It was the show I had been looking for. I would have felt I got a gonga deal if I had paid $20 for just the DVD but I also was included a full length CD and BOTH for half that price. I am very pleased and slightly extatic about this find and plan to continue further patronage with e-bay's Bargin Bins. Thanx.
If you like live acoustic music performances, you will love this DVD. It's a more laid back and personal look at Godsmack. With excellent recording quality, interesting twists, and guest performers, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it as I did. As far as the CD, you can't go wrong with a mix of 15 tracks of awesome tunes which made you love this band's sound in the first place! Adding a great cover of a classic Zeppelin tune doesn't hurt either. Enjoy!
Godsmack is truly the most passionate hard rock band out there. As you can see in the DVD that is included with this disc, they really care about their fans and have a great rapport with the audience. This disc is definitely one you'll want to add to your collection. It is Godsmack's "thank you" to the fans for ten years of being loyal fans and includes most of 'Smack's best songs. It is well made and mixed and you'll want to put it on auto repeat and listen to it all day long!
