Early AC/DC doesn't sound better than this album. Not a weak track in the lot. Oh, to have been in Australia during the late 70's while the USA remained relatively ignorant of the power of this hard rock band. We got it eventually and then we got an avalanche of thier 'older' material too. They were credited with having starting Heavy Metal yet they are considered a Hard Rock rather than metal band. Those with the labels sometimes have trouble applying them, don't they? The short story about "Let There Be Rock" is that it jams! The way rock 'n' roll was meant to from its very creation. I am sorry for you if this album is not in your collection for I fear that you may have missed out on what rock n' roll is supposed to be all about.Read full review
While I am impressed with the remastered sound and the ample photos and articles on this classic AC/DC album, BUYER BEWARE: THIS RECORDING IS NOT FROM THE FIRST GENERATION OF MASTER TAPES! This recording is still from the U.K. or Austrailian tapes because there is no fade out at the end of the track "Go Down" like on the vinyl American LP. There is really very little difference between the previous remastered ATCO version from 1994 and this one...with the previous mention of the photos and articles. Hunt down and buy the Australian version if possible since it has "Crabsody in Blue" instead of "Problem Child" which is on the "Dirty Deeds..." album anyway.
