*this review also applies to "Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot" and "Albino Slug")* I love this album overall, though I couldn't call it my favorite. I like each song a lot (and some more than others, of course), but I kinda think I'd like them even more if they had been peppered (pun intentional) throughout other albums. One of the things I like most about Big B is how his albums are so varied, and I'm just not seeing it as much with this one. The tone is similar throughout and I find certain aspects of the songs get sort of lost, for lack of a better term. Same beef as I have with Cuckoo Clocks and Bucketheadland 2, actually, though I also love those in their own rights. I think the best aspect of the album is that he just continues to grow as a songwriter. He wasn't exactly known for his songwriting prowess in years past, but he is becoming a more complete songwriter as time goes on. It's very refreshing to hear! He has always been amazing with the riffs, of course, but I find he is better able to tie them together now. Know what I mean? I really like this album, but I'm gonna give it a 4 out of 5 for the couple of drawbacks I see in it. Actually, I think I'll give it 4.5; the extra .5 going towards the fact that I know this will be an album that isn't a first listening choice for me, but that I'll go back to from time to time and be highly entertained by each time!Read full review
This CD is fantastic and one of my favorite Buckethead CD's. One of his later releases. Great mix of music Buckethead really gets around on this one. A great first Buckethead CD I seriously recommend it to anyone though. I was very impressed. Insane guitar playing as usual!
One of my personal favorite CD of all time. Unfortunately it's out of print, you can buy it on iTunes for 10$.
