This is my first review, but on the First Album of my favorite band. Before I bought this album, I only had the re-released version. I am not a fan of Elf Tower New Mexico, and there is no difference between the Demo and regular versions of Everything Evil. I finally found the ORIGINAL version of the album and I was immediately intrigued to see how it SHOULD sound. As soon as I got the album, I popped it in my car and blasted it. It brought back memories of listening to Coheed before their currently huge, and well deserved boom. The tracks, in my personal opinion, sound better with this than the re-release. Then came the ending of the album after God Send into IRO-bot. The transition was MUCH better than listening to the Everything Evil demo. So yes, as the critics say: The Original is Better. The only reason to get the Re-release would be the Kick-ass acoustic version of Junesong Provision. Stick the Original. Keep supporting Coheed and Cambria!Read full review
The Second Stage Turbine Blade is a fitting debut album. While it has a different sound from the rest of Coheed's work, after about a miniute into "Time Consumer" and you know what you're getting with this band. All the songs range from good to great, and I can listen to the album time and time again without getting tired of it. A must have for fans of the band, or a great starting point if you aren't familiar with Coheed.
I got into Coheed and Cambria in 2005 when their third album "Good Apollo, Im Burning Star 4 Vol. 1: From Fear through the eyes of Madness" back in 2005 when the song "The Suffering" was big on the radio and if your looking for a experiance like that then you may or may not like this album. Second Stage doesn't have the arena rock feel of Coheeds later albums, its more concentrated, dirtier, less pop. It draws heavily from the more punk aspects of music while still keeping Coheeds technical style. The album seems a lot more darker as it deals with the storyline spanning the albums, concentrating on the beginnings of the story, the tradegies and deaths and the beginning of the fight.
