I'm all for preservation of the the grand old sounds, even if they are mono, instead of stereo. Previous copies have been made into stereo. However, on May 8th, 1955, the original recording was done in mono. Amazingly, this release is the digitally remastered version of the original mono recording! It is the best by far. Gwen Verdon, Stephen Douglass & Jean Stapleton, who were members of the principle cast are contributing artists on this CD. Gwen Verdon, Bob Fosse's (the choreographer) wife, danced up a storm in both the Broadway and film versions of "Damn Yankees." Here are the 15 tracks by Adler & Ross: 1) Overture: Six Months Out of Every Year 2) Goodbye Old Girl 3) Heart 4) Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, Mo. 5) A Little Brains, A Little Talent 6) A Man Doesn't Know 7) Whatever Lola Wants 8) Heart (reprise) 9) Who's Got the Pain 10) The Game 11) Near to You 12) Those Were the Good Old Days 13) Two Lost Souls 14) A Man Doesn't Know (reprise) 15) Finale "Whatever Lola Wants" has to be seen with Verdon performing in order to really appreciate that full impact of this number~Read full review
my high school senior class of 1968, of castlemont high school in oakland, california, performed this play on stage in it's entirety. we did an excellent job of duplicating the original production and it brings back all sorts of memories to see and hear it again.
Who could ask more. Exactly as advertised at a cheap price.

It was just what I needed to help prepare for auditions for upcoming play. The community I live in does a musical every spring and this helped me figure out which part I wanted to try out for. Alas, I only got the chorus, but still I have the CD to play.
Just what I wanted
