Taime Downe, gotta love that name, lead man of Faster Pussycat took the band name and infused different members, what he got was hard biting, hard metal tracks the 80s version of the band did not explore. The tracks have a sharp driving sound and a pounding beat, the songs are rocking and the music metal and finally give the band Faster Pussycat the musical bite the band of the 80s looked like but was not allowed to deliver. The tracks are hard rock in the Motley Crue vein, quite a departure from the 80s glamrock the former version of the band was famous for. It seems Taime could finally make the music he wanted to but record labels would not allow when the first version of Faster Pussycat was fighting to be recognized. The songs seem much more complicated and the music more focused than the glamrock days, yet still have that hard edge in the words Taime always had. If you like Judas Priest, Motorhead, Motley Crue, Accept or similar bands then this is a little known jewel you'll listen to over and over.Read full review
This was not a bad CD.Taime Downe is the only origional member left.I really did not care for his work on his Newlydeads projects or some of the techno stuff he had put out.But this CD is a good, heavy sounding album with just a little of a techno sound mixed in.It's does not sound like the earlier Pussycat ,but this is probably as close as it's going to get.I liked hearing Taime rock out to a sleazy, hard sound again. The songs I thought where the best are,"number 1 with a bullet","gotta love it","sex drugs & rock-n-roll",and "shut up & f@@k".These had a good grinding, heavey sound. The one song I did not care for was the remake of "These boots were made for walking".I have no idea why Taime wanted to remake it.Worst song on the CD.If you like the earlier stuff, you may like this.
This album is very excellent all the way through it. It has Taime Down singing, but any of the other members that were on any of the other Faster Pussycat albums are gone now, for this album anyway. It sounds like the Faster Pussycat that everyone knows with his singing, but the whole album sounds harder than any of the previous ones done by this group. Starting with "Number One With A Bullet", "These Boots Are Made For Walking", by Nancy Sinatra originally, and all the way through "Bye Bye Bianca" which is just numerous people talking about how they remember the woman, it just kicks major ass. To me, it sounds like Faster Pussycat with a Nine Inch Nails shouting vibe all the way through it. If you want an interesting hard rocking Faster Pussycat album, that does not sound like any of the other albums, this is the one to have.Read full review
Heard this at a listening station in a record store. Got an Ebay gift card for my birthday and used part of it on this. This whole cd is solid. Previewed it and figured I would give it a shot. Listenable straight thru. Nice and sleazy. This is how rock n' roll should be. Nice cover of Boots.
this cd is not to bad.i am not totally familiar with all the songs, but is a pretty riff laden cd.the cd has a raunchy lyrical feel to it.the songs are not really pop orientated as they have more of a hard sound to it.it is a new direction for faster pussycat as the new line up is the factor behine it.the cd is not bad at all in my opinion.
