This heavy album was very hit and miss. Either there were 2 singers on the album or one dude who sang some of the time and shouted some of the time. When he sang, he sounded pretty good - original sounding voice - when he was shouting and screaming - not really worth listenning to. I realize that some younger listeners will like all that noise. I'm 33, and prefer good vocals. I bought the album because of the song, "Get Up Again," which was on a metal sampler I bought years ago. "Get Up Again" is the best track in my opinion. I also liked several others, such as "Only the Strong," "Best I Am," and "My Letter," (although that one was depressing.) I am giving the album an average rating cuz some of the other songs I hated - really hated - very frustrating. If you can pick up the CD fairly cheap, and don't mind yelling and profanity of some of the tracks (there's a PA on this album) then it might be worth getting - cuz of the really good songs. I think this band has some originality and a lot of potential - but that potential needs to be developed - and less shouting, more singing! A lot of hard rock guys shout cuz they can't sing, but this guy can sing, so he should use the talent he has. Well, that's all I got to say.Read full review
Through The Eyes by Flaw is an amazing debut album that refuses to conform to one single genre. It starts off with "Only The Strong" with strong rhythm guitar, and just when you expect your average singer to start screaming, you're knocked on your behind by a man with a soft, but powerful voice which gets the message across far better than any vocal chord abuse could. This sustains for the rest of the album, each track as strong as the next and last, and for those who love bonus hidden songs, there is a piano rendition at the end of the track "One More Time" of the opening track "Only The Strong." Vocally, Chris Volz dabbles in melodicism, rap-metal, and aggressive singing. Not to take any credit from the other members, as they all do their part, there is usually a standout quality in most metal records, and mostly, I would say that the vocals standout the most. But collectively, this music is timeless. It's not just a nu-metal fad band, (though then again, I don't believe in the concept of "nu-metal". Metal is metal, be it Korn, Trivium, Slipknot, Lamb of God, Linkin Park... The list goes on and on...) This is timeless music. The is a debut from a strong band who sadly are no longer are band. I recommend this to anybody.Read full review

This album is amazing. The lyrics in each song are truly deep in meaning and make you really understand the singers emotions. The style of music is between rock and alternative. This is a great CD to rock out to and turn up to full volume. I guarantee if rock is your genre then you will love this CD. I strongly recommend this album to anyone who enjoys good music.
This is an extremely diverse Album and that is very good because I like musik like this that mixes many things together, especially since Flaw does it very well. It's sad that they broke up. (UPDATE) They've recorded a new album. My favorites are "Only the Strong" & "Whole". The rest are awesome aswell and deserve many listens. This should be in your collection. Hope this helps!!
