"Voices From The Frontline" will help chronicle the perspective of the soldier in the Iraq war. The hip hop format is an important cultural link to the current times. As one of the first recordings of music directly from the Iraq experience, it is valuable that it has been released while the conflict is still ongoing. Much music from Vietnam veterans about their experiences has only recently been recorded. The CD is not for everybody, but for those into war documentary through music, this CD is a worthwhile asset.
"Voices From the Frontline" is truly a great CD and I am not even a big fan of hip-hop! The feelings, emotions and thoughts that the artists are sharing really got to me. If you can get past the genre and really listen to what is being said it is awesome and heartwrenching. I liked First Time, Girl At War, Ain't The Same and Family. We read about war in the newspaper and see images on TV but we don't know what our soldiers are feeling and thinking. This CD gives a voice to our soldiers who share their thoughts, fears and emotions. I cannot stress enough how this CD touched me. I highly recommend the CD "Voices From the Frontline."
My son wanted this compact disc. He loves the songs. He plans to be in the service when he gets older. Anything having todo with the military he wants.
