This CD is good, taken in itself. It's a pretty good rock album, heavy at times and melodious at times. However, Godhead doesn't really seem to be establishing themselves a niche with this release. This CD is good, I'll give it that, but I feel that Godhead needs to bring back the heavy electronic focus they had on their original release. It's a rock album, at times there is some electronic feel, but not enough through out the entire CD to define their sound. I think fans of Godhead will find this to be very similar to their second release, Evolver, because many of the same elements are present. If you liked Evolver, you'll most likely enjoy The Shadow Line as well. If you're looking for Godhead to have that sound - kinda like Marilyn Manson, in a way - that they once had, you'll probably be let down. It's still a good CD. Sounds good, lyrics are good and it gets heavy at times. I would suggest that unless you are a true fan of this band, that you sample the new songs before considering purchasing this CD - you could be let down if you don't.Read full review
Once again Godhead does it right. With slamming beats, Vocals that can raise the dead and guitars that are played like Gods this is sure to be one of their best CD's yet!
